Daniel and Lacey end up seated next to each other and that's when be finally realized his attraction for her. There's a blizzard, ground flights, a steamy hotel pool scene, and a shared hotel room. It all makes for a new romance. It also makes me question myself for ever getting into a hotel pool😆. 

Lacey has a lot insecurities to work through and Daniel needs to break away from the routine of his life. They could be good together.

I only gave this one 3.5 stars because one day really doesn't seem like long enough to know that person is the forever one. 🤷‍♀️ I don't know maybe. It's just rushed. Enjoy!

But it's a win for Ashton until his ex shows up putting a wrinkle in the festivities.

I always like the guy who has it all and can get anything he wants but finds out it's the normal girl for him kind of stories. It gives girls hope 😆. I'm married btw so there's none of that for me. I actually did marry a musician though (not his day job-engineer, but he is in a band). Anyway, ladies for those of us who are average, you're real. Sometimes, as we see in these stories it's what real men want.

DNF (did not finish). Ok, so this story is about a werewolf pack and a girl within the pack that struggles due to being a runt and disabled (only when she's a wolf). Honestly, she's a little feral in my opinion. This character is weird; like has very little social skills around nonpack members, and would rather be a wolf that her human self weird. She meets an injured shifter/wolf who needs a new pack and decides to cling to him in hopes of assisting her status from the bottom. 

He is of course the biggest wolf and strong and burley and attracted to her. I didn't feel it though. I really just could not get into this one, and halfway through I had enough. It's rare for me. I think this is the third book I've not finished in the last two years. I found it boring with holes. Several times I had to re-read a paragraph to see if I missed some information only to find I hadn't. And the sex issue was... well she was very virginal with no clue. The other was how even though people were mated they could just do it with a nyone they pleased. So women would just get on all fours and show their butt to the man. It was weird! Mates to me mean none of that. Luckily, he wants exclusivity with her. It was all just boring and weird. Oh well, I tried.

Lydia has spent her life enthralled in the fire community. Her father and brother are firemen, her brother's best friends are firemen, as was her ex-husband. When her sister's marriage (yes to yet another fireman) is in trouble she returns home to help her out at the family pub. 

Lydia feels a new chemistry between her and her brother's best friend since high school, Aiden. He feels it too. However Lydia dislikes the lifestyle of being out second place to their jobs and brotherhood, and she hates how her ex used the job to cheat on her. So when Aiden makes a move she's scared and pushes him away, but their attraction can't be denied. There's also this little bro-code where they don't date ex's or each other's family members. This leads to a fight between Scott, Aiden, and Lydia. 

This book was good, but her hangups got in the way for me. It was constantly spoken of or thought of and became redundant. I actually enjoyed the dynamic between her sister and her husband with their drama. 

It's a happy ever after kind of story with several sexy scenes which some of you will like. You know me...not my thing, but I'm just here to review the storyline. I will say sometimes you read a story that makes you think, "Maybe I'm settling?" This was one of them. Do the characters need to settle for the same old same old? Or can they settle for more? Can they have their cake and eat it too? Or will that be too much in the end?

Shannon did a good job with the emotions of all these characters too, but the very end felt rushed. Some books that focus in sex always feel rushed to the end once the deed is done. That's just my opinion. I still say it's a good read especially if you like firefighters.

This is the novella that was attached to Whiteout by Adriana Anders.

This story is definitely full of suspense. Derek is a dive rescuer who has to give a presentation to a group of school kids when he actually has to step in to rescue a child who falls through the ice. The girls responsible for daring the child to go into the ice run away in fear if getting in trouble.

Derek partners with old flame Artie, the teacher in search of the girls but end up having their own bit of trouble and whimsy. It gets a little hot in the extreme cold! 

This is a suspenseful read that you can do probably in one day. I did, but I read fast. Enjoy!

3.5 hearts for this romcom story about a woman dumped a week before her wedding who tries to get over him. 

Sylvie and her ex had planned a Christmas break honeymoon but their wedding was supposed to be in August. Her friend Nari, a world traveling blogger, convinces her to go anyway and take her along. Instead of the scheduled beach vaca they end up in Lapland, Finland where Sylvie happens to  know a guy from college that she dated and loved.

Sylvie and Stellan had an abrupt breakup back in the day and their reunion was a little standoffish. But in the time she's there they rebuild their friendship except Sylvie really had never let go of her feelings for him. They hash out what had happened, and she's still left feeling down when she leaves for home. 

Honestly, I like the story although I felt like even though it's a HEA it left me wondering what will eventually happen. You know? She is from England, he Lapland. That's seriously mileage. 🤷‍♀️ I guess we'll just imagine the future. Also I didn't give this four stars because 1) I found a few typos (even with the knowledge that this is published out of England), 2) the story would switch from Sylvie POV to Nari's blog to the guy Niilo that Nari likes. So I had to keep up with that.

All in all, it's not a bad story and book for those cold nights. And I loved learning a little about Finnish culture and folklore. I'd go there to visit!

This book has adventure, suspense, some evil crazy virologists, and a frozen romance. 

Angel is a cook and has a really cool opportunity to cook for the summer team at an Antarctic research facility. She gets along with everyone except one she calls Ice Man because he's just so friendly and warm (insert sarcastic eye roll). Actually, the man is precisely how she described him. Cold, aloof, nonsocial, and a true loner. But still she is attracted to him because he's rather good looking.

Dr. Ford Cooper, aka Ice Man just seems to have a lot of hangups and doesn't really like being touched or to have conversations. He's very introverted. But he loves the ice and snow and harsh terrain that is Antarctica. He also likes the little angel of a cook, and it makes him awkward around her. So, he decides to try to avoid her instead of making a fool of himself. 

Anyway, he discovers a nasty virus in one of his core samples and the pharmaceutical company (big surprise here) wants to use it to decrease the population of earth. The owner is a bit cray-cray. Anyhow, she sends mercenaries to obtain the new ice cores which leads to Ford and Angel on the run (er...ski) across the harsh plains of the continent. 

During it all, Ford's ice melts bit by bit for Angel as he sees how strong she is and caring. He struggles with his emotions and must decide if living how he was is truly what he wants in the end. 

This book, I think could be read and set down but it looks as though there's another one coming. It has a bit of a cliffhanger. There's a sex scene which Ford really let's himself feel for once. Angel I think is really good for him giving him time to grow. 

Check it out. It's more about the adventure and getaway than anything else. I learned a little about Antarctica too. Nothing like a little (ok a lot) of snow reading in December...

Oh, and the end of this e-book has a little novella that I'm going to read too. I'll catch you up on that later!

It's the last book of this particular series, however there are spin offs that I might explore. I'll say the storyline for the series was good. It kept my interest. I could've done without so much sex but that's the Christian in me. I usually graze over it all. It's the suspense that makes a story exciting. The chase, ya know? 

Anyway, I digress. This last book is all about the wedding. Yay! But as well know, well those who've planned a wedding, it is stressful. I actually tried to be a wedding planner once. Apparently people are cheap where I live and didn't want it🤷‍♀️. At least until their up to their elbows in food choices, dress fittings, and table assignments. You get that in this book too! 

This one's full of ill-timed revelations, someone ends up in jail, and beautiful I dos. Oh! And of course let's not forget the lead in to the next story about Jax's daughter! Ooo. Could be saucy. Well, I loved these characters and the need to be independent yet fully codependent on each other. A real relationship must have not only the physical touches but also the emotional ones where you share your darkest secrets and fear. I think Piper did a great job here with this story line!

This is actually the second book in this series but can be read separately. The story line is good. Annie, a personal chef witnesses her boss get killed. She runs when the killer sees her. She's been burned in the past by police and doesn't trust them. On the run she meets a police chief who takes an interest in the case and eventually her. Love follows as they try to find ways to keep Annie safe and find the crime family involved in the shooting. 

Like I said the story line is good, but Annie kind of drives me nuts. She has this hang up about trusting law enforcement but it's like a serious whiney hang up. She doubts herself too much. Maybe this one needed more detail in her thoughts with the struggle. I just wasn't feeling like it was showing the growth when she finally decided to jump all in. I guess I wanted more growth from her. Caleb, the officer also seemed a little quick on the feelings considering he liked to be closed off.

Anyway, good plot. It did show a good reliance on prayer which I liked. Wholesome book.

I obviously jumped straight into the middle of this series but it looks like each book is separate in its own way. I didn't feel like I missed anything by jumping in here.

It's a clean romance where a Marine decides to lie to his family about having a girlfriend instead if hearing them pity him and question him. A friend offers to help until one date turns into several and feelings get involved. 

It's a cute story where the big tough man must come to terms with his feelings and figure out he's an idiot 😆. Anyway, it was a nice easy read that was uplifting. Check it out. The book not the Marine. Okay, well check him out too! Lol.

I have to admit this series sucked me in. As I've said before, I'm not into the sex scene thing. And this book sure does have them which built up through the books as the story has progressed. However, the story itself is great. I like the complicated feelings between Jax and Haley. This book actually takes place two years later after a break between the two. But Jax has a contract to fulfill, and Haley intends to make sure he does. 

Those old feelings are still there just below the surface and the ending of this book is just perfect. Sometimes the wait is worth it. Honestly, the story could end here, but there's a fourth book about their future. Plus, I'm looking forward to reading the spin offs. Jax's daughter seems to have an enticing tale to tell as well...

This is the second book in this series. The romance definitely heats up between Jax and Haley. Both seem to be on the love track until a father sized curve ball is thrown at them. Jax gives an ultimatum, and we are led into the next book.

I like this series as the characters and their development is real. Haley seems overwhelmed and Jax is impatient. I feel like he needs her as some kind of crutch, and I'm actually glad in the way the author took the end of this book. I'll be moving onto the next.

This one is definitely more steamy than the last. Also, if you're sensitive to suicide attempts be aware that is an issue addressed in this book as well as drug use by one of the secondary characters.

This clean historical romance mystery takes place in two different time lines in England and then mostly in Australia. Fleur loses her husband during WWI but is left with a large inheritance. She ventures to Australia to findt here is a bit of mystery behind it. 

The second timeline is 60+ years earlier and takes us through the mystery. Della and Stefan (Fleur's husband's grandparents) are entrenched in finding a missing opal as well as dealing with Della's aunt.

The story is good. I just get irritated at the back and forth. As soon as I was really getting into one plot, it would shift to the other timeline. I know it's for the suspense, but it felt drug out. If you like historical type mysteries this would probably be a good book for you. It's just not my thing so much. The writing was done well too.

I gave this one X for one short scene of Jax and... himself...(clears throat)😆. But it should probably be only half an X because, well, you'll read about. Lol. Anyway, this is a slow burn type romance that hopefully continues onto the next book, Bad Girl.

Oh, high school romance. So much drama! This book though... made me so sad for Mandy. This poor girl has serious trust issues to the point where she made rules to keep people at arm's length. When she meets Gabe and finally starts breaking her rules, he shows her exactly why she had them in the first place. 

Don't give up the hope though because she is finally breaking out of her shell. I enjoyed watching her grow. She needs people more she thinks she does. And this book is all about growth. I definitely recommend it and will be reading the next book because cliff hangers🙄! That is if I could find it. Ugh.

This is third and final book of the Carolina Coast Series, and it picks up with Sand Queen Sophia. Sophia from the outside has a pretty awesome life. She has a great job and is married to an NFL star. However life isn't always what we see on the outside.

Behind closed doors she is neglected by her husband and abused. She leaves with her little boy for her home town to get away and recover. When her son gets sick she meets the town's new cute doctor. 

The problem is Sophia is prissy, bossy, and harsh. The new doctor tries hard to play nice, but both makes flash judgements about each other. She's hurting and he's getting over the loss of his wife. Both need time and patience, but when her ex comes back begging for another chance the romance heats up. Who does she pick???

I'm not telling! But this a great Christian read and a happily ever after. As much as Sophia drove me crazy at points, I really liked this one. Swoon...

I found this first book as a freebie on Amazon, and I thought I'd give it a go. FYI there are many books in this series. We'll see how far along I get. 

Ok, this series is about black panther shifters. Talon is the alpha of his pride. He has to settle down human fears when some of his cats were seen shifting on camera. Other shifters have a big problem with being outed. 

His guards, called guardians, frequent a bar owned by two sisters. Liberty, the eldest catches his eye. He knows they are mates but doesn't want a mate thinking he needs to keep his pride his priority. Unfortunately, Liberty gets caught in the mess between the pride and a pack of werewolves. He goes back and forth about being with her.

Based on the several shifter books I've read in the past every woman must be forcefully claimed, and she just loves it. This is no different. The sex scenes aren't too graphic in this book, so I gave it 2 X's. There's some good suspense and fighting. Liberty is a bit fiesty and I like that about her. I also appreciate that the author made her an average sized woman with some curves. We need to see that more in novels. 

Anyway, I spent the $.99 for book 2 as the story with the wolves continues...

Easy read especially if you like shifter/paranormal romance and some action. (Fighting action. Keep it clean guys!😆)

Opal is a strong woman of faith who fervently prays over everything and everyone. She sees the fruits of her labor time and again so she can't help but pray for Lincoln Cole to find his way. 

Check out this happy ever after clean romance for a quick read when you need uplifted.

This first book in the series introduces us to Alex a CIA angel killer and Willow a half human half angel whom he is commissioned to kill. When he finds out she's part human and not just angel he wants to protect her. On the run the two find they are being hunted by not only the angels but the devout Church of Angel followers who have angel burn from being fed on by the angels. Both want her dead. Alex wants her for himself. 

It's different than most stories I've read. I like this one. I wish Willow was a little more confident in herself and a faster learner. There is good clean romance and suspense.

This is the second book of this series. Willow and Alex are still on the run looking for more angel killers, and Willow is looking for a mystery half angel boy (Seb) from her dreams.

She's drawn to him and struggles with her feelings between both Alex and Seb. Who will she chose? I'm honestly team Seb. They're both halvezies (is that even a word🤷‍♀️). Anyway they must stop the Angel Counsel in order to save the humans who have no idea that they are getting angel burn.

This one needed to move a bit faster for me. Like I said before, Willow needs to learn faster.

This book starts a year later after finding more angel killers and doing their training. Life between Willow and Alex is great but not between her and Seb. I was honestly was kind of mad at him, and his pity me attitude. Chapter 15 had me crying, and I RARELY cry while reading books. My heart may have broken a bit. This poor girl has been through so much.

Skipping on we see lots of fighting, killing and an explosive ending. This was an emotional book where Willow really had to come to terms with all of her emotions, and that includes more that the boys. She has to deal with her mom and father as well as her angel self. She's in a very dark place for much of this book, and she needs to learn to let go, let love, and learn forgiveness. 

All in all, this was an excellent series. I'd recommend it.

This book was fast paced from the start to the end with lots of intense feelings in between. Wrath, a Navy Seal is under cover with his dream team to take down gangs. He meets the town's new attorney, Kara and is smitten with her. He can't allow himself to get caught up in a relationship though due to his job. She doesn't want one either due to her ex, also a Seal who disgraced their marriage. 

This story is action packed as events unfold that lead Kara into danger. The outcome, well, you'll have to read to see, but it leaves you wanting more (as in the next book in this series which I can't wait to explore).

This book does have a steamy sex scene which earned it's X's but it was just one descriptive scene. The other love scenes were illuded to making this book fairly tame. I wish I had a half X or I'd give it 1.5. Anyway, I do like Shirleen Davies books. I'll probably read the next in this series since it ends on a bit of a cliffhanger of who done it and who survived...

This is the first book in The Hybrid Chronicles series. The background story is a doctor has discovered how to use animal dna as well as advanced healing techniques to regenerate soldiers after life threatening injuries. These soldiers are claimed to be dead and are then used in secret combat units to eliminate valuable targets. Depending on the animal dna they receive depends on their abilities like super hearing, fast running, ect. There's a focus on this, but it's not the main focus.

Jericho is the leader of one such unit. He is tasked with taking care of the Vice President's daughter and her governess and then later ordered to kill them. He is conflicted about it as is his team.

He then falls in love, and it seems so quick. Hi, I know we met like four paragraphs ago, but I love you. Ok, maybe not that quick, but I need more sappy details! This book could've easily have had the feels if he would've put more into this romance. I just felt like things were skipped. 

I did however really like the action. I LOVE action. TK could've added more hand to hand fights, but stuff was blown up so I'm happy.😂 

All in all this book was a solid 3 hearts. I'd easily give it 4 if it had more details. It was a quick read. I also found the chimera (hybrid) aspect though provoking.  I'll recommend it to anyone maybe 16+. There's the mention of sex but no details other than it happened, and Jericho was a happy man...
